One thing I learned early in my walk with the Lord : "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans." Sounds meaner than it really is. It just means that while you may "know" the direction you'd like your life to head in, God knows a better (and often more exciting) way - if you're willing and committed to letting Him be in charge. Completely in charge.

Yates|Family Portraits|Heritage Park Olathe KS
I totally love the colors from this shot! What's not to love about blue & green with some amazing light??? I was diggin' these colors so much, I had the hardest time picking which ones I would convert into B/W. And believe it or not...I didn't do a thing to Matthias' eys - they really are that blue!
Give me 20 minutes a beautiful park and an fabulous family (who are prayerfully working towards becoming missionaries to China) and this is what I come up with...
And another bridge shot (JoCo Parks are full of bridges!)
And, as with most of my sessions, it soon becomes all about the kid :)
One last "these-colors-are-so-cool" shot...

Jack|Child Photography|Olathe KS
If you're thinking, "Man! She gets to hang out with all the cute kids." Well, you'd be right. I met up with Jack and his mommy and daddy for his 3 month pictures. I'm lucky enough to get at least two more sessions with this little guy since he's enrolled in my Milestone Program. Enough blabbing and on to the sweetness...
Had to give a spot to his daddy's favorite onesie :)
Perfect way to end the shoot.

Kansas Wedding| Overland Park Arboretum| Overland Park KS
I had the awesome opportunity to second shoot a wedding on Friday. For those of you unfamiliar with photo lingo...second shooters usually pick up the slack when the main photographer can't be everywhere at once. I was in charge of getting all the intimate shots of the bride while she was getting ready for her big day. It was a fabulous whirl wind experience for me.
If you've ever been to Overland Park Arboretum, you know how beautiful it is. That day was no different. Both Michelle and Tom are band instructors that met at...yes...band camp. It was clear how much Tom makes her smile.
Enjoy peeking in on their special day...

CaraSue did all the hair and makeup. She was fabulous to watch work! Not only was she speedy, but she was totally personable.
These sisters are so tight! Not one argument between them the whole time!
A few detail shots for ya. :)
