Benjamin|Newborn Portraits|Overland Park KS
This is little Ben's 3rd time making my blog. I guess that's what happens when you're born 11 days after Mommy's maternity session. This guy was only 5 days old for his session. It was SO nice to get a chance to work with a newborn that was actually sleepy. He wasn't as curl-able as I had hoped (he's little, but very strong), but we still managed to get some ultra cute shots. I was chomping at the bit to use some of my ity-bity baskets. Just watch, this little guy's probably gonna grow up to be some line-backer...

Sweet Peter|6 months
It's been a month since I did my sweet baby's 6 month portraits (he was actually almost 7mos). He's almost 8 months old now and on the move! He's crawling and pulling himself up. His older brother was walking by the time he was 10 months old. I think he may be gearing up to follow in big brother's steps. I can't believe that his first year is more than half way over! This pictures is such a great depiction of how smiley he is. How could you not love this little porker???

Laura and Chad|Engagement Session|St. Louis MO
About 2 weeks ago, I made a trip to St. Louis for my very first photography workshop. It was way more than I anticipated. In fact, I'm still processing much of it - so I'll be leaving it for another post on another day.
One element I was really looking forward to was the mock engagement session we were able to shoot. This is Chad and Laura. They're a real life couple - but aren't really engaged. They were kind enough to let 30+ photographers crowd around them while being all mushy. Chad is a professional photographer himself, so he knew the drill.
The most challenging part of this session was being able to squeeze in there and get a shot before the moment passed, There came a moment that I just said to myself, "Alright, Kami. It's time to take the right-of-way." And that's what I did. I figured I hadn't driven 4 hrs to sit on the sidelines. I must say, I think it turned out well...
If you like what you see and would like to schedule an engagement session of your own, shoot me an email!

Birthday Flowers
I love daisies. Every time I see one, I always hear Meg Ryan in You've Got Mail..."Daisies are such a happy flower" (At least I think that's what she says. ;)
Last Monday was my birthday. The big 2-6. Okay. Yeah. I know. 26 isn't that big of a deal, but Tyler always knows just how to make me feel special on my b-day. This is just one element of a fabulous day I had with my boys.
Happy Monday, everyone!

Benjamin Ryan|Newborn Portraits|Overland Park KS
This little guy is fresh out of the oven. Benjamin Ryan was born at 8:10am on August 27, 2010 weighing 6lbs 14oz and measuring 19.5in long. He's a little squirt! But make no mistake - he's strong!

Keep an out for this little one. He's enrolled in my Milestone Program, so you'll have the pleasure of watching him grow through his first year.

Ryan and Amanda (and Benjamin)|Maternity Portraits|Antioch Park|Merriam KS
This couple is such a hoot! They are constantly making the people around them laugh. Ryan is a chemical engineer and Amanda is an RN (and one of the few people I know who laughs louder than I do). Their marriage has a great balance of spicy and nerdy (maybe that's why we enjoy hanging out with them as much as we do). Baby Benjamin is slated to make his entrance into the world in the next few weeks and I can't wait to see the curve balls that little guy will throw them. Whatever they may be, I'm certain Ryan and Amanda will do great. Here's an early congrats to them and their growing family...
